Good morning, ma'am, If the reaction is recent, it is normal for new lesions to appear up to 72 hours after the start of the reaction. cetirizine is effective but may have a slower onset of action. You can give Benadryl but you should avoid combining them. Either give Benadryl 3 to 4 times a day if drowsiness or excitability is tolerated, or give cetirizine once a day.
