How much Symbicort can I take?

64-year-old woman2 years ago
Hello, I have asthmatic bronchitis. I take symbicort 2 times a day (2 inhalations each time). I would like to increase my dosage because I still cough a lot. And especially the hours before I take it. If I took 2 at 9am...am I calculating correctly...I would add 2 at 5pm and then 2 at 1am. Morning. Thanks ✨

Good morning, ma'am,
Symbicort can also be used as a rescue pump according to the SMART protocol.
The dose can be increased to a maximum of 2 inhalations 4 times a day. I invite you to discuss this with your pharmacist to verify that this is consistent with your chart information, including other inhalers, if applicable.
Sincerely,
Tom Samaha, Pharmacist
