Doctor told me to apply it directly on my eyelid but directions on information sheet says to apply it in the eye? Does it matter which one I do?

Hi I have a stye on my eyelid so the doctor prescribed me erythromycin ointment.

Hi , you can apply it in the eye and a little bit outside so it can cover all the region .
