I have important bleeding gums, I saw that it can be my citalopram (10mg). Should I talk to my md?

My dentist has been looking for the cause for a long time, I go every 3 months. My doctor doesn't understand why I'm bleeding and is looking for it too. He never made the link with
My citalopram.

Hello!
It is true that Citalopram may be associated with abnormal bleeding. This side effect is reported in the product monograph. It can affect platelet aggregation.
This effect is worse if Citalopram is taken with other drugs affecting coagulation such as Aspirin, anti-inflammatory drugs (Advil, Motrin, Naproxen, etc.) or Coumadin, for example. Caution should also be exercised in people with acquired bleeding disorders or a history of severe bleeding.
It would be interesting to discuss this with your doctor.
