What else can I do to reduce the pain of tonsillitis besides cold?

Antibiotics may take a few days to take effect. If Naproxen gives you relief and you tolerate it well, I encourage you to continue it, along with Tylenol. You can also use lozenges like Halls or Fisherman's Friend for local relief, and I encourage you to drink plenty of fluids, cold or hot as you prefer.
