Does Diclofenac have an impact on my fertility, and can I take it even when there is a chance that I might be pregnant?

Hello, I am currently trying to get pregnant. I am 32 years old and have had ankylosing spondylitis for 5 years. My arthritis is well controlled with Humira, and my rheumatologist has given me the green light to try to conceive. However, from time to time I have pain and I take Diclofenac 50mg as needed ( ≈ 0 to 3 times a month).

Hello, ma'am,
In general, anti-inflammatory drugs such as diclofenac should be avoided if you are trying to conceive or if you are pregnant. That being said, in order not to leave you untreated if pain occurs, I suggest that you discuss the subject with your pharmacist and/or physician for safe and effective alternatives.
Sincerely,
Tom Samaha, pharmacist
