Should I take another test in a few days? Should I see my doctor? I know that a late period is not always a sign of pregnancy.

Hello, I have had a late period for 5 days. I was due on the 20th and it is now the 24th. I did a pregnancy test on the 24th in the morning, but it was negative. It is to be noted that I do not take any more contraceptive since 3 years since I had my period even under pill (I already tried several kinds). To be clear, I was taking the pill in a 1 month cycle, but I had my period even before I got to the flour pills. So now I use the calendar method with temperature taking to track my cycle. Also, I am very careful not to have sex or protect myself during my ovulation period.

Hello!
Yes, it would be a good idea to do a pregnancy test again in a few days. It is preferable to do it in the morning, as you did, because the first morning urine is more concentrated.
It should be noted that the calendar method is not very accurate and puts you at risk of an unwanted pregnancy. Sometimes the first pill you try is not the right method of contraception. I encourage you to discuss your contraception with a health care professional if you are not planning a pregnancy.
Have a great evening!
