I am 6 days late in my cycle?

34-year-old woman2 years ago
Hello, I have a delay of 6 days (5 plus expected date). In general my cycle varies but since 1 year it has become regular 32 days for 4 days...during my April cycle I had to take a morning after pill. When should I take a pregnancy test? And would the morning after pill explain this change in my cycle?

Hello ma'am, thank you for your question!
If you had unprotected sex during your last cycle, I invite you to take a pregnancy test from the first day of your expected period. That means you can take one today.
Many factors can delay your period such as stress, illness, fatigue, change of schedule, or even for no reason at all sometimes.
If your pregnancy test is negative, I invite you to take another one 1 to 3 days later
If you still haven't had your period, with a month's delay and negative tests, you should consult a doctor, as a precaution.
I am available if you have any other questions!

Hi, thanks for the follow up.
yes I had an unprotected intercourse the previous cycle 2 days before my ovulation period. Follow up in a different time zone.
i am 6 days past my due date and have had signs of normal PMS as well as mild cramping

Thank you for the follow-up. If you haven't done so, I suggest a pregnancy test, if you have had unprotected sex during this cycle
This can be a fairly common occurrence, but if you still haven't had your period in 3 weeks and your pregnancy tests remain negative, I would suggest seeing a doctor as a precaution.
