I have been taking clarithromycin 500 mg for 6 days to treat a tonsillitis but my tonsils are swelling and becoming whiter and whiter as the treatment progresses.
Should I go back to the doctor because I can't swallow my saliva or even eat and it's very painful

If you have not noticed any improvement after 72 hours, it could be that this is not the right treatment. Unfortunately, you will have to consult again to validate the diagnosis
Furthermore, clarithromycin is not a first-line medication for this type of infection, unless you have had a severe allergy to penicillin in the past.
