After a sprained ankle, my foot turns blue?

26-year-old woman3 years ago
Hi, I sprained my ankle 1 week ago and my foot is now turning blue all the way down the middle of my leg and my blood is not circulating when I stand. It's getting more and more painful. I have already had x-rays and nothing is broken. I'm especially worried about the blue color that keeps going up and my poor circulation makes my leg very sensitive.

Hello, thank you for your question! First of all, if I may ask, what makes you say that the traffic is not at this level?

When I stand or leg up it turns all blue with white dots and it throws up in pain.

Thanks for the information!
Indeed a sprained ankle can "resonate" higher up the leg. Ditto for the bruise, this is normal after a shock.
Your best bet for now is ice in a wet towel or bag, 15 minutes at a time, but as often as desired throughout the day. If the injury just happened, it may be normal to feel this pain for the next few weeks, but you should still notice a gradual improvement.
Hopefully, this has been helpful to you, so don't hesitate if you have any other questions
