Can teething cause reflux?

30-year-old woman2 years ago
Hello. My baby had a lot of reflux from birth due to an allergy to bovine protein. With a hypoallergenic milk everything was fine. Since 4 days, the painful reflux and regurgitation came back. She is now 4 months old. I notice that she drools a lot and always has her hands in her mouth. I think she is teething. I have a prescription for prevacid but she has never taken it as her condition has greatly improved. 1. Can the reflux come back due to teething? 2. Should I give her prevacid? How long does it take to work? Are there any contraindications?

Good morning, Mrs,
Indeed, the age, the salivation and the fact that your child brings his hands to his mouth could indicate teething, which can also explain a more irritable state. In this case, acetaminophen for pain should be tried first, as it is the most effective for this type of pain. I invite you to try this for the next 3 to 4 days and then evaluate afterwards :)
I hope I have been helpful to you, please do not hesitate if you have any further questions!
