Should I schedule his vaccine after the antibiotic treatment? If so, how long after?

My 25 month old son is currently taking an antibiotic (Cefprozil) for an ear infection, and his flu shot is scheduled during treatment. I told him that a study suggested that antibiotics decrease the effectiveness of the flu shot.

Hello,
Antibiotics do not decrease the effectiveness of the flu vaccine. However, if a person is fighting an infection, the response to the vaccine will be diminished.
If your child is still on antibiotics but is feeling much better, and is in good general condition, he or she can receive the vaccine. However, if your child is still very tired, it would be better to wait until he or she has recovered.
I hope I have clarified things for you today!
