What can I do about an allergic reaction to my face after a massage?

26-year-old womana year ago
I had a reaction on my face a few days ago, I think it's due to a massage, it seems to be a contact dermatitis, I've been applying hydrocortisone for 3 days, it seems to have peaked but no improvement, it's very itchy.

I recently went to a spa for a massage and 1 day later, I started having a reaction on my face localized to my cheeks, the next day it spread to my neck as well. It's been 3-4 days now that I have this reaction, it seems to me to be a contact dermatitis, it looks like small buttons with swelling and itching. I've been applying hydrocortisone for 3 days, it doesn't seem to improve my situation but it doesn't get worse either. I went to see a pharmacist in a pharmacy and he recommended me some reactins but it doesn't seem to improve my case either.

Hello Mrs.,
In order to better understand your needs, would it be possible to know if you are currently taking other medications, and if the situation has changed since you asked the question on this platform?

Hello, no the situation has not evolved since then, it is always localized on the cheeks, neck and ears. Only the demenginations that come in waves, sometimes it's tolerable and other times it stings without sense. The only medications I take on a regular basis are the birth control pill alesse and teva-trazodone. I am currently trying to take Benadryl and applying cold water compresses.

Thanks for the information!
Benadryl is usually suggested for a rash on the skin if drowsiness is not a problem for you, i.e. if you do not plan activities requiring alertness such as driving or taking care of children for example. Also keep in mind that this product may increase the drowsiness experienced with trazodone.
Applying a fragrance-free moisturizer such as Aveeno or Glaxal Base as often as necessary is also recommended.
Avoid using soap or other products on the face, use only water, and avoid rubbing the skin, instead, lightly pat the skin to leave a thin layer of moisture, then apply the moisturizer quickly afterwards.
Improvement can be seen 3 to 5 days after exposure to the cause has ended. If not, or if the situation worsens, a doctor should be consulted as a precaution.
I will remain available if you have any further questions!
