Should I try Canesten for my vaginal discharge while waiting for culture results?

Hello! I've been in a pretty special situation for the past 2 months. No UTI according to 3 urine cultures, but I still have frequent urination AND vaginal discharge. No pain, no scratching, no smell. The discharge is not too heavy and there is no large discharge, only that the discharge is quite thick, whitish & creamy looking. I feel like this discharge started after taking 2 different antibiotics in October. On October 18 I tried a flucozanole pill, but it didn't help, it persisted. We had tried antibiotics thinking it was a UTI. No STI. I have been seeing my doctor frequently lately. Last Thursday we did a gynecological test + vaginal swab. I haven't heard back yet, so I was wondering how long it can take to hear back on swabs? Because my clinic doesn't call if they see nothing. And should I still try Canesten (and what formula) to try? Because the discharge is disturbing, I feel like it's building up in the entrance of the vagina. Is this a sign of a vaginal infection? Thanks in advance for your suggestions!

Hello, thank you for your question!
After all your appointments and tests, if your doctor had seen the relevance, he/she would have most likely suggested starting this kind of treatment. I don't see the need to start this kind of treatment in this context.
That being said, if you want to try it, Canesten 6, a cream with 6 applicators, is usually what is recommended for yeast vaginitis.
I hope I've been helpful, and if you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to ask

Yes, but it's going to be a week tomorrow since I took the sample and I still haven't heard anything. I wonder if with the test they could have seen the reason for these "secretions" or not? Or a vaginitis/fungal infection?
I feel like my doctor isn't really pro active, and I'm trying to see if based on my described symptoms, it could look like vaginitis? And if it can be seen in a swab? Because the symptoms are there and I'm trying things because I've had this for 2 months and I don't understand

The samples are used to determine what kind of infection may be present, whether it is bacterial or yeast. The tests for these 2 types of conditions are different though.
I'm sorry, I don't have any other guidance other than to suggest that you call your doctor's office for follow-up...
