This can happen quite frequently but usually goes away on its own after 7 days maximum. Avoid very hot, acidic and spicy foods like coffee, alcohol and juices. Also, use an alcohol-free mouthwash if you use one

A paste called Orabase can be applied before meals to reduce irritation (available over the counter)
