Should I see a doctor about the smell of his urine? Is this a sign of a urinary tract infection? Thank you for your help!

Hello! Baby is 4 1/2 months old and is exclusively breastfed. Her feedings are going well and she fills her diapers well. However, she hasn't had a stool in almost a week. She is HYPER irritable and has gas. Her urine smells really strong (ammonia). I give her BioGaïa.

Hello!
Does your baby have a fever? A urinary tract infection would definitely cause a fever, so keep an eye out.
Is the pee darker? Make sure your baby is drinking well and that his urine is pale and in the same quantity as usual. More concentrated urine can give off an odor.
As for stools, it's okay if a breastfed baby goes 10 days without a stool. If she has gas, it should work soon. You can move her legs by gently pedaling her while she's on her back to help and massage the belly by making gentle clockwise circles.
If the smell in the urine persists, talk to the doctor.
Have a nice day!
