Should I see a family doctor or pharmacist, or should I just wait for the reaction to pass?

For the past week, my eyelids have gradually become more and more swollen. It started with one eye, then the other followed soon after. My eyelids are also dry and there are a few patches of flaking skin that can look like eczema. I feel like scratching my eyelids. At first I thought it might be a seasonal allergy, but I find it strange since I have never had such a severe reaction before. I am afraid that it will get worse and since both my eyes are affected it is very disturbing.

Hello,
Would it be possible to upload some well-lit images of the lesion?
Have you tried anything for this problem?
Do you have other symptoms such as difficulty tolerating light, decreased vision or eye pain?

I apply moisturizer to my eyes twice a day. It relieves the itching slightly, but the eyes are still very swollen. I wear sunglasses to avoid excess light. My eyes are swollen.

Hello ma'am, I'm sorry for the delay, I didn't see the notification!
You did the right thing with the moisturizer, I suggest a fragrance free product, as often as needed during the day. Cool water compresses can also help improve comfort.
Avoid wearing contact lenses, makeup, soap or cleansers. Only use clear water for hygiene, max. 2 times a day.
If you have pain in your eye, difficulty tolerating light or decreased vision, you should consult a physician.
If the swelling persists for more than 5 days without improvement or if other symptoms occur, you should consult a physician.
Sincerely,
Tom Samaha, pharmacist
