Small plate where I gave blood, what to do?

22-year-old woman2 years ago
I was given blood for the first time 1 month ago. For the past week, I have had a small red patch on and around the puncture site. Following a call to Héma-Québec, I was advised to talk to a pharmacist. I don't have any pain, sometimes it stings but nothing more.

Good morning, Madam,
Would you be able to upload some well-lit images to see the lesion you are talking about?
Thank you for your time!

Thanks for the feedback!
This can be a normal reaction when the skin is damaged, but it is temporary. I suggest applying a fragrance-free moisturizer such as Aveeno as often as needed, as soon as the urge to scratch arises. Avoid scratching as this will slow down the healing process.
Use a fragrance-free soap such as Dove. After a shower or bath, avoid rubbing your skin dry. Instead, lightly pat the skin to leave moisture on it, and apply Aveeno cream within 5 minutes of getting out of the shower.
I invite you to try these measures for 5 to 7 days. If you don't notice any improvement or if the lesion gets bigger without being caused by scratching, you should consult a doctor as a precaution.
I hope I have been helpful, I am available if you have any further questions!
