Should I see a doctor again? Do you have any other advice?

Hello, my 16 month old daughter had a 72 hour fever from December 10th to 13th with flu-like symptoms (runny nose, cough, decreased drinking and eating). I consulted her doctor on the 14th, but her fever had gone down and there was nothing to report during the oscillation (eyes, ears, throat, skin, vulva). She had a fever again on December 16-17 for about 24 hours. Her symptoms of discharge and coughing are improving and there is no more fever, but she is VERY irritable, sleeps very little with frequent awakenings, and drinks/eats much less than normal. I do nasal hygiene several times a day and monitor urine to avoid dehydration.

Hello ma'am, I'm sorry to read about his troubles!
You have done well with nasal hygiene as often as necessary during the day.
Decreased appetite and a little more irritability are common during an episode of illness. As long as your child is feeding, even if a little less than usual, wetting and soiling her diaper, just continue to monitor her general condition.
I will remain available if you have any further questions!
Sincerely,
Tom Samaha, pharmacist

Thank you. So no need to reconsult? What would be the symptoms if she had an ear infection? Would she still have a fever?

The patient should be consulted if the fever persists for 72 hours, if his or her general condition deteriorates steadily, or if his or her symptoms persist for more than 7 days without improvement.
