Should I then treat with Canesten 6 day cream, internal and external, when my period is over?

Hello, my doctor prescribed me 3 Fluconazol to take last week to cure a vaginitis. I finished taking them last Friday and I notice that I still have symptoms .... I have my period now, but I feel that the vaginitis is not cured. I had read that when you don't treat with Canesten cream for 6 days, the infection can't go away completely just by taking Fluconazol.

Good morning, ma'am,
Some people will require longer treatment. That being said, a failure of 3x fluconazole is usually something that needs to be evaluated by a doctor to review the diagnosis and rule out other causes.
If you wish to try Canesten 6 while waiting to see the doctor again, you can, and you don't have to wait until after your period, it won't compromise the treatment.
I will be available if you have any further questions!

Thanks for the answer. I had already read, among the questions already asked, that it was impossible to eliminate the amount of yeast that causes the infection by only taking Fluconazole and not applying the cream. I just wanted to make sure that was true?

Usually, treatment with fluconazole or the application of a topical antifungal should be sufficient to adequately treat the infection in most people.
