My two year old daughter has had a runny nose for the past 4 days and also has a discharge from her eyes with small yellowish secretions and a cough. The secretions in her eyes seem to be getting better and better, her eyes are more red. Thank you very much for your answer!

Good morning, ma'am, Eye involvement along with the nose occurs frequently, it is often secondary to a virus, such as a cold in the eye If your child does not complain of eye pain, inability to tolerate light, or decreased vision, just monitor the situation: warm water compresses can help clean and relieve irritation if necessary. Do not share the pad as it may be contagious. Artificial tears such as Refresh Tears can help improve comfort. If symptoms persist for more than a week or worsen, seek medical attention as a precaution.
