I finished my antibiotics and I still have a cough, what should I do?

34-year-old womana year ago
I have strep. I have been on antibiotics since Thursday night (for 10 days), I have no more dlr but since Saturday, I have a very bad cough with dlr at the sternum with a bar in the middle of my back when I cough.

Hello ma'am, I'm sorry to read about your troubles!
Besides the cough, do you have any other symptoms such as a stuffy or runny nose, even a little? Have you tried anything for this problem?

Hello,
No, only a very big, hollow, fat cough. I always cough.
It creates a dlr a/n from the ribs to the back like an edge to edge line of the body with dlr at the jaw/throat right side.
Most of the time when I breathe I hear crackling and secretions.
I have done covid tests, they are negative. For the rest, as I have an antibio, I have not tried anything

Thank you for the information.
Given the crackling and secretions, I suggest nasal hygiene with a saline solution (Hydrasense, Sinus Rinse and others), which can be done as often as needed during the day, and at least 30 minutes before bedtime. By 'cleaning' the nasal secretions, one can greatly reduce the backward flow of secretions into the throat, which often causes coughing. It's a little uncomfortable but it works wonders!
I encourage you to drink lots of fluids, cold or hot, depending on your preference. Lozenges such as Halls or Fisherman's Friend as well as Tylenol (if you have no contraindications to taking them, which your pharmacist can confirm) can relieve throat irritation.
If the situation persists for more than 7 days without improvement, you should consult a doctor as a precaution.
I will remain available if you have any further questions!

Thank you,
The pain in my throat/jaw is only when I cough while taking a deep breath. I will try the sinus rinse, but my nose is not running.
It's really the coughing that doesn't stop and doesn't diminish after 5 days which causes me pain as well as pain to almost every muscle in my body.
Thank you for your time and advice, it is greatly appreciated!

It was a pleasure, do not hesitate if there is anything, I wish you a speedy recovery!
