Which milk formulas for a newborn?

27-year-old woman3 years ago
Hello, I am currently breastfeeding my 3 week old baby. I am seriously thinking about stopping breastfeeding. There are too many choices of formula and I don't know which one would be best. Is Good Start any good? Or Enfami? Which one do you recommend?

Hello Madam, thank you for your question, and congratulations :)
There are indeed a multitude of products available!
Among the main products for newborns are Good Start, Similac (Step 1), and Enfamil. These products are also available in different 'variations' with small differences in ingredients, iron content, and protein types. They are, for all intents and purposes, equivalent.
However, you have to keep in mind that they do not taste the same as breast milk, and have very different tastes, unfortunately, not as good as breast milk...
I remain available if you have any other questions!

Thank you very much for your answer, if not I would like to try mixed breastfeeding? Do you have a milk that is very similar to the maternal one, because I would like to continue breastfeeding but I am a single mother and I would like to be helped by my parents from time to time but I have the impression that I will run out of milk even if I pump often! At night I only give bottles because otherwise I spend the night breastfeeding

Indeed, mixed breastfeeding is a solution! And it's also a plus if you pump, to continue to stimulate production
However, any of the above options would be adequate. There is not one that is more like breast milk, and they all taste quite different.
I hope this helps, and if you have any more questions, please don't hesitate to ask!
