Can I ask at the pharmacy to take more antibiotics to finally get rid of this pharyngitis?

20-year-old womana year ago
My tonsils are still swollen after a week of taking antibiotics for pharyngitis. They are no longer white/full of pus, but they are still abnormally large. This is the third time in the last year that I have had a tonsil infection.

Unfortunately, your pharmacist cannot prescribe this type of treatment.
I am reassured that you are reporting an improvement in certain symptoms, apart from the swelling, do you have other symptoms such as pain, fever or other?

no, I have no other symptoms. Will the swelling go away on its own?

A new infection, such as a cold, can cause this but you should notice a gradual improvement every day. If this is not the case and the situation persists for more than 7 days, you should consult a doctor.
I encourage you to drink plenty of fluids, cold or hot, as you prefer.
I hope I have helped you, and I am available if you have any other questions!
