My 16-day-old baby has a tummy ache?

My 16 day old baby has a lot of tummy aches. I am breastfeeding him exclusively, but I would like to give him a bottle (with formula) because I can't express my milk. My question is what kind of milk to give him since his tummy hurts. Is it colic? Is he intolerant to my milk? If you could enlighten me a little more. I have an appointment with the nurse in 2 days but until then I would like to know what to do. Thank you so much!

Hello, Madam!
I understand that the situation may seem quite unpleasant... However, keep in mind that your child is still learning to digest, so his discomfort is not totally abnormal.
Also, although the crying is unsettling, colic is not dangerous for the baby, and does not affect his development in any way. There is no established treatment for colic, other than coddling the baby
Since no intolerance or allergy is suspected, any newborn formula can be tried, such as Similac, Good Start, or others... Just be aware that formulas can taste quite different from breast milk, and may be less appreciated by babies.
Hope this helps, and don't hesitate if you have any other questions!
