I wonder if the contraceptive implant can cause this weight gain or if I can't lose it?

Hello, I started the contraceptive implant in August 2022. Before that I had a small weight gain (about 10lbs) nothing alarming but today, I can't lose it despite my follow up with a kinesiologist.

Hello, ma'am,
The implant can cause fluid retention but does not increase your weight per se. You did the right thing by consulting a kinesiologist but I also suggest a consultation with a nutritionist to develop a realistic eating plan for you.
Weight gain or loss comes down to a calculation of calories consumed versus calories "burned".
