My period is more than two weeks late, what should I do?

Hello, my period is more than two weeks late. I took a pregnancy test and the result was negative. I recently stopped taking my birth control pill. I was prescribed a "continuous" type of pill that made me menstruate only every three months. I had a period the last time I was on birth control and since I stopped, nothing.

Good morning, ma'am,
What was the contraceptive?
Was your menstrual cycle regular before you started it? How long was it?
When exactly did you stop the contraceptive?

Hello again,
I was using the Seasonale contraceptive.
My cycle was never really regular when I wasn't on birth control, but I never went that far past the "typical" 28 days. I would say that normally my period could start a week later, but never more than that. I stopped taking the contraceptive when my period ended in the first week of December and I was menstruating by then.
Thank you for your help!

Thanks for the information!
It may take 3-6 months for some people to return to a 'normal' cycle. I recommend that you monitor the situation for the time being.
However, if your cycle length exceeds its usual length by twice as much, you should consult a doctor as a precaution.
I hope this has been helpful and I am available if you have any further questions!
