Is it normal to have a brown discharge after 3 days of placebo when I usually have red blood?

22-year-old woman3 years ago
I have been taking the placebo pills of my birth control pill (seasonique) for 3 days now in order to get my period, I had big pelvic cramps this morning (period cramps) but I only have spotting and some dark brown blood. No pills were forgotten or taken late and my last sexual intercourse was on April 7, I had a normal period from March 28 to June 1. I usually bleed heavily anyway (red blood)

Hello,
Yes, it can be normal to have only spotting during the week you stop taking the pill. Indeed, one of the beneficial effects of the pill is that it reduces the amount of bleeding. This effect can occur when you have been on the pill for a while. Some women may not even have a period at all. This does not affect your fertility and is not dangerous
