Could I have gotten chlamydia from kissing my roommate or sharing a drink?

Hello, I recently received a positive diagnosis for chlamydia in my throat. However I am not the type to give oral sex, so I don't really understand how this is possible... the only hypothesis I could see is that shortly before I was diagnosed, my roommate must have taken a treatment for chlamydia, vaginal level though. I was screened and treated, so it's not a big deal, I was just wondering how it could be possible, thanks anyway!

Hello ma'am, This type of infection is not caught from kissing or sharing a drink but from oral sex Did you have any symptoms, or was this infection detected? You may have carried the bacteria for some time. In many cases, people with chlamydia may not have symptoms. This means that you may have been infected longer than you originally thought.
