I often have vaginitis, what can I do?

For some time now I have been having recurring vaginitis and it is not the friction of my sexual intercourse that causes it. I also use a bar soap to avoid perfumes.

Hello, thank you for your question!
Yeast vaginitis occurs as a result of an imbalance in vaginal flora. Several non-pharmacological measures can help reduce their frequency:
  • Avoid soaps and douches, especially those containing fragrances. I would advise avoiding any type of soap for now and only wash with water to assess what happens next;
  • Avoid cleaning yourself after going to the bathroom from the bottom up: you need to go from the top down during cleaning (front to back).
  • Avoid clothing that is too tight, and favor undergarments that 'breathe' better, such as cotton ones.
  • After sports, swimming, or if you sweat, it is recommended that you change quickly.
If these measures do not work and you have 4 or more episodes in the past year, a medical evaluation will be necessary.
Hopefully, this has been helpful to you, and please don't hesitate if you have any further questions

Yes I always wipe from front to back so I don't think that could have anything to do with it. I was also wondering if shaving between my legs close to my labia could have anything to do with it or if the semen that stays in my vagina that I'm not able to get all of it out of is it possible that either of these two things are messing with my flora?

Thanks for the feedback!
As for the blade, if it's clean and in good condition, it's unlikely to cause a fungal infection. However, you will need to distinguish between an infection and more simple irritations from shaving. I would suggest not shaving against the direction of the hair, avoiding going over the same area often, and if possible trying other methods that might be less irritating.
As for semen, that can also be quite irritating so I think you should try, for a few weeks, to avoid having your partner ejaculate into the vagina.
