I was wondering how long it can take before it stops heating up? Is it normal that in 24 hours I still have pain?

Hello 👋 For about 1 week I have had discomfort in my vagina. It's a heating sensation... I bought the Vagisense test at the drugstore and according to the result, it says yeast infection. I have no secretion, no smell, and it heats me up after I pee and not during. It's in waves, sometimes I don't feel anything and other times it's really painful. That's why since yesterday I use Canesten extra strong cream. Thank you very much ☺️

Oops I don't think my information was sent...
A week ago I started to have discomfort in my vagina. I don't have any secretions, smell or pain while I pee, but only afterwards. I bought a Vagisense test and according to the result I only have a yeast infection. Since yesterday I have been using Canesten extra strong cream.

It's in phases, sometimes I feel nothing and other times it's painful. Can it take a while for my infection to go away?
thank you very much ☺️

Hello,
Yeast vaginitis usually manifests itself as a whitish "cottage cheese" looking vaginal discharge with itching and no odor. There may also be a burning, tingling sensation and mild difficulty urinating. Vaginitis may resolve on its own, or if not, should get better in 1 to 3 days with treatment such as Canesten cream. To heal completely, it usually takes 1 week.
I suggest that you continue to monitor your symptoms. If your symptoms persist, if you start to have a colored and smelly discharge, or if there is the appearance of abnormal bleeding, abdominal pain or nausea and vomiting, you should consult a doctor for a diagnosis and appropriate treatment.
Hopefully this answers your question,

Thank you very much for your answer. Indeed, with the cream it is much better. I was wondering if it is normal to have pain after sex? I don't have pain during, but only after I urinate.
Thanks :)

Usually, mild pain associated with vaginitis occurs during sex, and it is possible to have a burning sensation when you urinate. At this point, I don't think it's alarming, but if this pain gets worse or persists after you finish your treatment, you're better off seeing a doctor.

Last question! When should I stop using my cream?
Samantha Hui · a year ago
Which cream do you use? Is it the external or internal cream?

External. Canesten 2 mg
Samantha Hui · a year ago
In fact, the external cream helps more so by relieving local symptoms rather than targeting and treating the fungal infection. The internal cream or oral tablet are options that may give better results:
  • Clotrimazole intravaginal cream applied once daily at bedtime for 1 to 7 days depending on formulation
  • Fluconazole 150 mg oral tablet in one dose if you are not pregnant
I recommend that you continue the external cream for a total of one week, and then go to the pharmacy and get a fluconazole tablet that is behind the counter. It's just one dose to take and should help your symptoms resolve within a week.
