Hi, I had influenza at the beginning of December and I found out that I was pregnant, but for the last 3 weeks I've been coughing a lot and vomiting once or twice a day, but I also have pregnancy nausea. I'm wondering what I can do to help or if I should go see the doctor? Thank you for your help!

Good morning, ma'am,
Unfortunately, the cough is often the last symptom to disappear even several weeks after recovery for some people.
If you have even the slightest bit of a stuffy or runny nose, I strongly suggest nasal hygiene with a saline solution such as Hydrasense or Sinus Rinse which can be done as often as needed during the day and at least 30 minutes before bedtime. Cleansing secretions can prevent them from flowing down the throat which often causes coughing.
I encourage you to drink plenty of fluids, cold or hot, as you prefer. A teaspoon of honey can also be helpful for coughing.
You should notice a gradual improvement every day. If this is not the case, I invite you to consult a doctor as a precaution.
I will remain available if you have any further questions!
Sincerely,
Tom Samaha, pharmacist

I did not address nausea! I want to let you know that your pharmacist can prescribe a safe and effective treatment for nausea during pregnancy just like your doctor can!
