My daughter has a lot of eczema behind her ears, what can I do?

35-year-old womana year ago
My daughter has had eczema since she was a baby. She sometimes gets red patches. She has had them behind her ear. However, despite the fact that I have cleaned her, dried her and put soothing and healing cream on her, it doesn't go away! It has been going on for several weeks. She even bleeds sometimes because it is so dry and it hurts.

Thanks for the feedback.
The basis of the treatment will be moisturizing the skin and other non-pharmacological measures:
A fragrance-free moisturizer such as Aveeno, Cutibase, Base Glaxal, Cerave and others should be applied as often as needed. You can even suggest a more oily agent like Vaseline or Aquaphor, which I like.
Avoid scented soaps, and after the bath or shower, avoid rubbing the skin vigorously: instead, lightly pat the skin to leave a thin layer of moisture, then apply the cream or ointment within 5 minutes of getting out of the bath.
In cold weather like now, make sure your child wears gloves and that his or her neck and face are well protected (scarf, neck warmer, toque, etc.)
If non-pharmacological measures are insufficient, you should consult a physician for a thorough evaluation of your child's needs.
I hope this has been helpful and I am available to answer any questions you may have!
