Is it safe to take acetaminophen and ibuprofen on consecutive days?

Hello, My 3 year old boy has COVID-19 and has had a fever since Saturday night. He has been taking alternating acetaminophen and ibuprofen since Saturday night (5 days). We are taking care to respect the maximum daily doses. Note that he was examined by a doctor yesterday (Wednesday) for the persistent fever. He also has a treatment of Ciprodex ear drops currently.

Hello Madam, in order to make sure I answer you properly: was the alternation suggested by the doctor or is he aware of it?

Yes, the doctor knows. We started the acetaminophen on Saturday night and added the ibuprofen on Monday, following a nurse's recommendation.

Thanks for the feedback!
I ask because it is not recommended to alternate them unless under medical supervision or advice as usually one of the two should be sufficient for fever.
That being said, if the maximum dose of each is not exceeded, it is safe without problems in the short term (max 1 week).
I hope I have been of some help to you, and I remain available if you have any further questions!

No, if given in the correct dosage and safe dose.
