I think I have alopecia in one area of my scalp. What can I do to fix this problem?

Hello Ma'am,
There are several different health conditions that cause hair loss much like you are experiencing right now with what may look like alopecia. To get a clear idea of what really causes hair loss, it's best to consult a doctor.
That said, alopecia (the real kind) likely originates from an autoimmune reaction in which the immune defenses mistakenly attack hair follicles. Peladic hair loss is not the result of any other disorder, but some people may also have an associated thyroid disorder or vitiligo (skin pigmentation disorder).
In such a case, the round, irregular patches of hair suddenly fall out. Around the edges of the patches, the hair is typically short, broken, and looks like exclamation points. The affected area is most often the scalp or beard.
Hair and scalp hair usually grow back within a few months. In people with extensive hair loss, however, regrowth is less likely.
To address the problem, a cortisone cream is prescribed (by the doctor).
Good evening :)
