I think I fractured the outer part of my ear. More precisely the root of the helix. What to do?

It stung so I put my finger on the root of the helix and it cracked and I'm in a lot of pain and even though I shouldn't, I went on the internet to find out when it would heal and I just came across some terrifying stuff. So is this dangerous? What can I do besides patience?
