I think I have a sebaceous cyst that has burst under the skin of my scalp. Is there anything I can put on to relieve the pain?

Hello, I have cysts on my scalp from time to time (sebaceous cyst). I have them removed by minor surgery when possible. I have them often so I am used to them and I know what to do normally, they are not dangerous, they are benign. However, I think one broke off under the skin and it's painful. I have to call on Monday to have an appointment, can I put something on in the meantime to relieve the pain?

Good evening ma'am,
Unfortunately, there is very little you can do to decrease the pain at the potential ruptured cyst at this time. It might be tempting to apply ice for 10 minutes every hour until you go to bed and possibly apply Voltaren Emulgel™ cream, a topical anti-inflammatory before bed to hopefully get some relief overnight. The latter medication is not usually used in this type of indication, but theoretically it should help.
Good evening,
