Is Tylenol/Advil given according to the child's weight or age?

My baby is 15 months old and weighs 27 pounds. The dosage for advil and tylenol is by age or weight. And, often above 2 years old the dosage increases, and so does the weight indicated on the package. If I take by age or weight it would not be the same amount for my baby.
