Is this crackling sound normal, or should I consult?

40 -year-old mana year ago
Hello, I recently tested positive for Covid. After severe cold symptoms the first few days, I experienced an improvement, then a loss of smell and the beginning of a fairly frequent cough. By day 10, the sense of smell has started to return, but the coughing persists. My breath crackles/whistles when I exhale (this crackling may disappear after a good cough, but it always comes back). On day 11, the cough is still there. I don't feel any particular shortness of breath, I breathe at a normal rate.

Hello Sir,
It is common for secretions and coughing to persist for some time even after the episode has healed. This may take a few weeks for some people.
The best remedy remains nasal hygiene with a saline solution such as Hydrasense or Sinus Rinse which can be done as often as needed during the day and at least 30 minutes before bedtime.
I also encourage you to drink plenty of fluids, cold or hot, as you prefer.
You should continue to notice a gradual improvement every day.
I hope I have been helpful to you and I am available if you have any further questions!
Sincerely,
Tom Samaha, pharmacist
