Is there a special cream for diaper rash in a 2-year-old child?

My boy is two years old and counting. He came home from daycare with the edge of his buttocks excessively red, it's blistered and hot. It hurts very, very bad. Should I prescribe him a special cream? Thank you very much!

Hello Ma'am,

No, it is not necessary.

Usually, it is possible to start with the use of zinc oxide 40% cream (Zincofax pink pot).

Have you tried this avenue?

If so, the best thing to do is to try the application of hydrocortisone 0.5% on the buttocks before bedtime for 2 consecutive nights. It really helps!
