Usually, in cases of frequent cramps, the solution is not medication, but rather stretching and massaging the calf. One of the best exercises, for example, is to lean against the wall by extending the leg backward, while leaving the heel on the ground.
For jaw cramps, it might be tempting to see a dentist if it happens often. He can then look to see if it's coming from a problem he can identify in your mouth.
