According to the information we have to date, having been infected once with COVID-19 would allow for long-term immunity to this virus that does not mutate (like the flu).

It is increasingly unclear whether the virus will provide enough immunity for all infected patients to protect them from future infection. Some data from Asia seems to show that people who have had a very mild infection (low fever, almost no cough) could get it again.
We are waiting for more data to see if this will be confirmed by Canadian health organizations.
