When I go to bed, I have a huge toothache, it's like it's being used, it's tense (cheek and ear). What can I do?

I have to put my tongue between my teeth to loosen up a bit at night. It wakes me up. I had it years ago, but it started again about a week ago, it hurts day and night.

Hello!
With pain this bad, it's best to call a dentist to have your teeth checked. It could be many things, such as an infection, an uprooted tooth exposing the root, or perhaps wisdom teeth.
A dentist will be able to guide you in resolving this problem.
If you don't have any contraindications, ibuprofen could probably improve the pain and allow you to at least sleep a little at night
Also, a topical product like orajel (anesthetics in gel form) could help for a limited time.
We could also try a desensitizing toothpaste (like sensodyne) but the main thing to do is to see a dentist as soon as possible.
Good luck!
Jean-Philippe
