With all the talk of coronavirus, should I take precautions with a little cough and runny nose?

31-year-old woman4 years ago
I am 26 weeks pregnant and have always had a little runny nose. I had a good flu 6 weeks ago and since then, I continued to have a cat in my throat but it was decreasing. However, tonight I realized that my nose was running a little more and a little cough was present. I did a sinus rinse and the discharge diminished. Should I go to the hospital or cancel my work for the next two weeks if my condition is stable? Please note that I do not feel feverish.

Hello Ma'am,
The situation you describe is not worrisome (considering you do not have a fever). Thus, I recommend that you do not go to the hospital and continue your work.
Also continue the Sinus Rinse™ as you are already doing, but increase to twice a day.
If your situation should change, I recommend that you visit this site (😊👉CoronaCheck) created by the Swiss authorities, but very adequate to our "local" situation in Quebec.
If the tool recommends that you see a doctor or be screened, I recommend calling 1-877-644-4545. The staff on the other end of the line will direct you to the nearest screening clinic and make an appointment for you (this is why you should not go directly to the clinics).
Note that anyone who has been in close contact with someone who is recommended for screening should also be screened. By close contact, we mean that they have spent more than 4 hours in the same room as a person to be screened, or has been in direct contact (kissing, talking) with that person.
If you are recommended to go to a screening clinic, I would recommend that you go without taking public transportation.
Happy day!
