Do I need to see a doctor or do I just keep cleaning and the discharge should go away? There is no real foul smell

My 2 week old baby's belly button fell out 3 days ago. Since then, a yellow discharge (pu) has been going on in his belly button. I clean it 2-3 times a day and dry it as much as possible. Moreover, there is a small ball in the center of the navel. Both, the discharge has decreased a bit but I clean at every diaper change and the belly button lump is still there and it doesn't dry.
