How do I know what other birth control pills I can take?

Hello! I am 22 years old and I have been taking the Linessa birth control pill for almost 2 years now. I have no health problems. I would like to change the Linessa pill for one that contains as little estrogen as possible. Which one would you recommend? I'm having a little trouble finding the answer to this question.

Hello Mrs
There are indeed contraceptives with lower amounts of estrogen. However, recommending changes in treatment is not a good idea on this platform because there is a lack of information needed to make a decision. I strongly advise you to contact your pharmacist by phone or in person, as he/she will be the best person to mention alternatives and, if deemed relevant, contact your doctor to suggest the change.
Sincerely
Tom Samaha, pharmacist

Thank you for your answer! However, what information is missing to make a decision?

Also, I would like to know if there are any significant side effects, in general, when changing from one birth control pill to another?

There are many elements to confirm such as history, family history, other health conditions, preferences, etc. Your question requires a personalized consultation which is not possible on this platform, especially since your pharmacist and/or doctor will ask you the same questions.
Usually, changing from one contraceptive to another is done in case of intolerance or ineffectiveness (this should also be addressed during the consultation). However, switching from one contraceptive to another, especially if you want a contraceptive with a lower amount of estrogen, should not bring adverse effects, especially if you do not have any now. However, a change can cause spotting, bloating, breast tenderness, etc., but these remain mild and temporary.
