Can I take my tablet if it has expired since June 21, 2022 or is it dangerous?

Hello, I have been anxious all day and now I am having a little difficulty managing my anxiety which is overwhelming me. I have a prescription for apo-lorazepam 1mg to take as needed but I just noticed that it expired on June 21, 2022... my family doctor is closed and I don't want to clog up the emergency room for my anxiety attack. Could it be dangerous if I take the medication since it is past its expiration date? I don't want to cause myself any more problems as my anxiety is at its peak.

Hello, ma'am,
The medication does not become toxic, but it is impossible to know if it contains the amount it should after the expiration date, or if it would remain effective. I would encourage you to check with your pharmacy to see if the prescription can be refilled.

Thank you very much for your answer. Unfortunately my pharmacy is closed and the nearest pharmacy is 1 hour away from my house. If it is not toxic, can I still take it? But the effect may be less than the exact one?

Unfortunately, I cannot recommend taking a product that is past its expiration date
I do not recommend using it. If possible go to a pharmacy or call to check if delivery is possible.
