No previous history. Swimming in a salt pool. First time that my eyes react to swimming. They sting, they itch and I feel like I have little grains in my eyes. I have difficulty opening them. The symptoms appeared a few minutes after swimming and still persist after 3 hours.

Very intriguing situation. Are you having trouble seeing, or are you having more difficulty than usual looking at the light? Also, how have these symptoms changed since yesterday?

Indeed, I had a little difficulty seeing clearly. It was the equivalent of having a pale veil in front of my eyes. The light was also irritating.

The symptoms diminished about 5 hours after the swim, but the eyes were still irritated. The next morning they were fine, but I could still feel a little something scratching my eyes in the inner corner. About 1 hour later, it was gone.

Thanks for the information. It is probably a reaction to the products used in the pool. Although it is rare for this to happen with a salt pool, it is not impossible. To prevent this from happening again, wear goggles the next time you dip your head in. Perhaps this happened simply because the pool products were "ill-fitting", but I wouldn't take any chances.

If demengeation occurs again, first rinse with plenty of cold water while holding the eyelids (as if you had a chemical in your eyes). Then use lubricating "artificial tear" drops to counteract dehydration and improve comfort. Follow the dosage found on the bottle. And don't hesitate to reconsult if this happens often.

Thank you very much for the answer. After checking the water quality of the pool, the chlorine level was indeed too high due to bad settings of the salt system. Now that the water is back to normal, I don't have any symptoms after swimming and I am very happy about that.

And thanks for the tips if it happens again. I'll definitely pick up some lubricating drops just in case.
