Hello Mrs,
For constipation, taking PEG-3350 (LAX-A-DAY, Restoralax and other brands) can help soften stools. It is a tasteless and odourless powder that can be diluted in a small amount of any liquid and drunk once a day as needed. I encourage you to eat plenty of fiber (fruits and vegetables, whole grains, etc.) and drink plenty of fluids to soften the stool.
Anusol Plus ointment, available without a prescription, can be applied to the irritated area (inside and outside as needed) twice a day and after each bowel movement.
Avoid sitting on the toilet bowl for long periods of time, as this can make the situation worse. Get up as soon as you're done (don't read the newspaper or use your cell phone for example)
I would also recommend using unscented wet wipes, a wet washcloth or a bidet for hygiene instead of toilet paper for the time being, to give the mucous membranes a chance to heal.
If the situation does not seem to improve after 2 weeks, or if it gets worse, you should consult a doctor.
I hope I've been helpful, and I'm available if you have any other questions!
