How to help a baby with a cold?

32-year-old woman5 years ago
Last cold lasted 2-3 weeks and ended in sinusitis. We would like to get out of it before Christmas this time. We do the ste justine technique of nasal hygiene, the baby fly. We try to hydrate him as much as possible even if he doesn't want to eat or drink much. We try to give him some rest but he doesn't want to sleep anymore.

Hello Ma'am,
Unfortunately, there is not much more that one can do, if you are already practicing the Ste-Justine hospital technique 3-5 times a day.
You could also put some Vicks™ on a wet washcloth in her room near her headboard (not directly on her skin), but that is unlikely to make much difference rendered there. Same goes for using a humidifier in the bedroom in my opinion. I'm more in favor of recommending long "hot" showers
Make sure you also give her vitamin D supplementation (600 IU per day for over 1 year, 400 IU per day for under 1 year). This is unlikely to harm his situation and should be done by all Quebec children according to Health Canada.
Try it,
Alexandre Chagnon, pharmacist
